The Molding of Polar Opposites

In the age of cellphones that can do more than just call another cellphone, the handheld phone has become one of the most defunct gadgets. Cellphones today have been created to perform multiple functions such as surfing the internet, taking pictures, and, even, creating documents and powerpoint presentations.

Connecting with family and friends from all over the world has become so convenient and accessible that it can be done with just a click of a button. One simply needs a computer with a webcam to be able to connect with his loved ones using skype or iChat. This feature also allos both parties to see each other which makes the communication gap smaller. It not only involves hearing the other person, but also, seeing them too.



These programs, however, either use the speakers of the laptop which require the users to talk to each other so loud that they need to be screaming at each other. The other option, the earphones, is attached to the head of the user. All these things are making the “old-school” telephone set a thing of the past and are, therefore, barely used. The YUBZ phone molds the old, traditional hand-held phone with the new, technologically advanced skupe world.

The product, which comes in different colors, may be mixed and matched according to the user’s personality and preference (egonomics). It allows them to be able to “relive” and feel nostalgia as they pick up the phone, just like when they were young (Cashing out and small indulgences). Clicking with the trend of the internet, this product allows the consumer to feel a part of their past right at the desktops (cocooning).
